Love Architecture

Any members who enjoyed last Saturday's demonstration by Tim Morrison may also be interested in a workshop he is running this weekend ( Saturday 16th June ).

This event is in the city centre and is hosted by York Architecturtal Association.  The day combines photography and imagination to create 2D and 3D explorations of York's urban landscape.

The activity runs from 11:00am to 5:00pm this Saturday at Northern College of Costume, 26 Market Street, York, North Yorkshire, Y01 8SJ.

**  Please note this is not a YAS organised activity so anyone interested in attending should contact Tim or the York Architectural Assocation directly.  Places are limited so would suggest following up quickly if interested **

More detail's of Tim's event can be found by following this link http://lovearchitecture.org/event.html?event=168  and wider information on the Love Architecture festival is on their official site http://lovearchitecture.org .

York Art Gallery

York Art Gallery is currently engaged in an ambitious development that will add a new first floor gallery, using rooms currently occupied by the City Archives and increasing the current display space by 60%.

The plans are currently on display in the first floor Little Gallery and members of the public are actively encouraged to express their views by writing in the Design Notebooks or adding a suggestion cloud to the Blue Sky Wall at the top of the main staircase.

Suggestions so far include request for specific name artists, exhibition themes, specialist techniques and a focus on emergent artists.  So go on down and add your thoughts !

It's anticipated that work will commence in Spring 2013 with the Gallery closing this December.  More details can be found on the Gallery's official site.  Click here to read more.
